100 kms a day – Cycle, Run (or mostly walk!) for Charity
Once again the community of Ramsbottom & Bury, staff from our clients and insurer partners came together to help us smash our challenge and to raise vital funds for Bury Hospice.
So far your generosity has helped us and this event raise another £1,300 towards our target of £10,000. The till is not yet closed – you can still contribute in person via donation buckets or cards in our office, or easily online through our Just Giving page – see here.

A special Thank You
A massive thank you for those who made the effort, turned up and supported our efforts. Specific mention and thanks has to go to: –
- Paula Smethurst from Hillstone Loadbanks and Carl Moore with incredible stamina levels easily munched through the kms on the exercise bike helping us to meet the daily target on the Monday & Tuesday.
- All the donations made by various individuals and local businesses especially the generous donations made by Northern Star Financial Management, Swiftheat Gas Services Ltd and WMB (Installations) Limited
- Great team cycling efforts from PM&M Accountants, Orbital Design, & WHN Solicitors.
Our 100 second challenge – The Winner
The challenge was simple – who can get the furthest in 100 seconds. What we and most of our competitors didn’t expect was how tough it is to maintain a fast pace for what appeared to be a a short time. How wrong they were – thankfully the defibrillator wasn’t required!
The leader for a few days was Luke Irving from PM&M until overtaken by Adele Hanson (Charlotte’s mum). We had high hopes for James from R2M Limited but his steel toe cap boots were a clear disadvantage – but still an impressive attempt. However, there was one clear winner who absolutely smashed it achieving 1.8 km!
After careful validation checks have been undertaken to show he is not a robot we are therefore thrilled to announce that the winner is Sean Towers from Rosebridge who has the bragging rights plus a £100 gift voucher of their choice from either Owens Restaurant or The Vineyard.
The final online leader board (see here) is available for those that completed the 100 seconds.
Our Next Event – Date to be confirmed

- £50 per player (all proceeds to Bury Hospice).
- Prizes for the winner & Nearest the Pin
- Live leader board available throughout the day for you to keep tabs on.
- Great opportunity to network & promote your company
