At the prestigious British Insurance Awards, held at London’s Royal Albert Hall, Munro-Greenhalgh was named Small Broker of the Year 2026. This is one of the insurance industry’s leading awards events recognising achievement and excellence across the UK insurance market.
Don’t be misled by the word small!! The UK insurance market includes a substantial number of independent brokers and intermediaries employing 30 people or fewer, making this a highly significant national award.
The British Insurance Awards recognise excellence across the insurance industry, with the Small Broker of the Year category assessing much more than business size. Entrants must demonstrate the quality of their customer service, the value of their advice, their ability to innovate and the support they provide to clients.
To be selected as the national winner, ahead of other outstanding independent insurance brokers from across the UK, is an achievement we’re exceptionally proud of.
What makes this recognition particularly special is that it comes from within our own industry. The judges recognised that our independence, long-standing client relationships and commitment to exceptional personal service remain genuine strengths in an increasingly consolidated insurance market.
For a team of just 11 people, based in Ramsbottom, to receive this national recognition during our 100th anniversary year is something quite extraordinary. It demonstrates that you don’t need to be a large corporate insurance broker to deliver outstanding expertise, professional advice and exceptional service.

Our success continued at the UK Broker Awards 2026, organised by Insurance Age and held in Birmingham.
We were delighted to be crowned Insurance Broker – The North, recognising our achievements as an independent insurance broker serving businesses and individuals throughout the region.
For a family-established business with its roots firmly in Ramsbottom, this award was another particularly proud moment.
Our third award was unexpected and came from SME News, which named Munro-Greenhalgh Best SME Insurance Broker 2026 – North West England in its UK Finance Awards.
