Ahead of schedule, at around 10.30am, we completed our #Munrocyclethon challenge. We ended how we started off with David in the saddle to get us over the finishing line. Afterwards we still had people calling in desperate to have a go and test their stamina, including Robert Bennett, a risk surveyor from Aviva Insurance and Phil Fellone from The Best of Bury. Both agreed that the pace we had set was a real test.

So how much have we raised? As at the finish time we had raised just over £4,000, nearly twice the figure we originally set. This continues to rise with donations from those who had been too busy during the week. Donations can still be made at https://www.justgiving.com/campaign/munrogreenhalghforburyhospice – can you help us to achieve £5,000 or even more?

This has been our first Charity Event. It has been a fantastic team effort from all of staff both in the planning, cycling and fund raising. The support of various local businesses and their generous donations has been invaluable. Special mention and thank you to:

  • Lavender Hotels for the loan of the exercise bike. (But please come and collect it now!!)
  • Orbital Design, Ramsbottom for the design and supply of the various marketing materials, posters, banners and T Shirts.
  • To both James Frith, our MP for Bury North and Bury’s Mayor Jane Black for the support.

A message from Mayor Jane Black

Our Fund Raising for Bury Hospice doesn’t end here. Next we have a 007 Themed Casino Night planned for the 3rd May 2019 at the Stables, Bolholt Hotel. Please keep that date free in your diaries.
