MP starts the cycling for charity!

James Frith, MP for Bury North, was first in the saddle this morning – in support of the #Munrocyclethon, raising money for Bury Hospice’s 6 Bed Challenge.

James, who is Chair of the All Party Parliamentary Group on Hospices and Palliative Care, got the #Munrocyclethon underway at 9 am and commented, “The Bury Hospice 6 Bed challenge is a really great cause and one close to my heart and many other locals. Please try and donate – or come and support the team cycling. It is a really brilliant idea – and actually coincides with the end of my dry-January!”

The Mayor of Bury gets on her bike for charity!

The Mayor of Bury, Councillor Jane Black, has also today done her bit to help #Munrocyclethon in support of Bury Hospice’s 6 Bed Challenge.

The Mayor said of the event, “This is for a really good cause and one which does touch us all – my brother passed away in a hospice in London, so I know first hand the importance of the care provided at these fantastic establishments. Please, please help Munro Greenhalgh raise as much money as possible – and lets get those 6 beds open!”

We are attempting to cycle 350 miles (the distance between Ramsbottom and Lloyd’s of London and back). Our Directors and staff  are taking it in turns to achieve the miles every day this week. We have had lots of support from our clients and Bury Businesses with promises of muscle power as well as donations.

Why not show your support by coming along along and/or donating to our orange buckets or go online:
